My rating: 5/5 stars
Genre: YA/Dystopia

Summary (Goodreads):
What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.

My Review:

An action-packed, thrilling and exciting dystopian novel that will make you want to get the sequel ASAP.  Legend is truly one of the best dystopian novels ever written.

I love the twists, the characters and how the book was printed. I love the gold lettering in Day's POV. I just can't help complimenting it. It's unpredictable and the protagonists of this book were strong in their own ways. I love them both and I am looking forward to read Prodigy.

The book has 2 POV:

Daniel "Day" Altan Wing is the most wanted criminal in the Republic. He is against the government. He did not trust them especially of what they did to him when he failed his Trial , a mandatory test to all citizens of Republic when they reach the age of 10 to determine their future. Those who will get high grades will be sent to Universities educating and training them to serve the government. On the other hand, once you failed the Trial, you will be sent to their so-called Labor Camps... He'd done acts not only  to show rebellion but as well as to help his sick brother. He doesn't kill anyone.  He was  the number one suspect of Metias's death,  a crime he was sure he didn't commit.

June Iparis, a well-known girl for having a perfect Trial score seeks avenge by hunting down Day. She was smart, brave and stubborn. Her character was a combination of Tris Prior (Divergent) and Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games). I just love her and so as Day. The anger she's feeling led her to a wrong choice when she realize that the government has been hiding something. A secret that made her turn against the government.

I would also love to see this as a film. If ever there is going to have one. I definitely recommended this to everyone. :)
