Arsen: A Broken Love Story by Mia Asher

Pages: 419
Goodreads rating: 4.41/5 stars
My Rating: 4/5 stars
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance, Erotica

Summary (Goodreads):
One glance was all it took…
I'm a cheater.
I'm a liar.
My whole life is a mess.
I love a man.
No, I love two men…
I think.
One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire.
One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite.
I'm broken, lost, and disgusted with myself.

But I can't stop. This is my story.
My broken love story.

My review:
First of all, I want to praise Ms.Mia Asher's writing style from the very beginning till the end of this book.  It was truly an emotional roller coaster. I didn't really cry, but that feeling in my chest hurts. I swear, it hurts.
Reading this book gave me all sorts of feelings. I felt the happiness, sadness, giddiness, anger, frustration... EVERYTHING.

I highly suggest that you have an open mind and long patience  before reading this book because as of now, I'm trying to gather all my thoughts after reading this and I don't know where to start.

The story:

Ben and Catherine Stanwood were so in love. They've been together for 11 years and married for 6 years. Things began to fall apart when Catherine experiences miscarriages which caused her feelings to become withdrawn from Ben.

Until this hot guy named Arsen comes to her life. He's a flirt and every woman drools for him. Catherine was attracted to him because of the way he use words and his cockiness. Being around him makes her feel young, alive and love. She got carried away and wants to forget all pain she feels and through Arsen, she lost control and gave in to him....... behind her husband's back.

Before making a decision, think WISELY or you'll regret it and end up miserable.

To be honest, I am frustrated with Cathy because her heart prevails than her mind. Gosh, I am so mad with her for hurting Ben. At least, she regrets her mistakes. That's a lesson for you, woman. You better learn from it.
I'm frustrated with Arsen for not setting his damn boundaries! Arrgh! I still hate you.

I love Ben to bits. He's a good man with a forgiving heart. He was loving, caring, romantic and passionate man. He is a type of guy that every girl's who have dreamed of.

Overall, this book is really good. :)

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

Pages: 344
Goodreads rating: 4.09/5 stars
My rating: 4/5 stars
Genre: Young Adult (YA), Contemporary Romance

Summary (Goodreads):
Amy Curry thinks her life sucks. Her mom decides to move from California to Connecticut to start anew--just in time for Amy's senior year. Her dad recently died in a car accident. So Amy embarks on a road trip to escape from it all, driving cross-country from the home she's always known toward her new life. Joining Amy on the road trip is Roger, the son of Amy's mother's old friend. Amy hasn't seen him in years, and she is less than thrilled to be driving across the country with a guy she barely knows. So she's surprised to find that she is developing a crush on him. At the same time, she's coming to terms with her father's death and how to put her own life back together after the accident. Told in traditional narrative as well as scraps from the road--diner napkins, motel receipts, postcards--this is the story of one girl's journey to find herself.

My review:

"But the greatest joy of travelling can never be planned for. And that is the element of SURPRISE! Be open to this, as it will make your trip much richer. After all you never know where the road will take you!"

Amy's father died in a car accident and she blames herself for it. Being in California makes them vulnerable, so her mother planned a road trip to Connecticut for Amy together with Roger, who is her mom's family friend's son (did I say that correctly?) and their epic detour begins..

I really like this book! I think I just had a road-trip-on-a-book and it was indeed a good summer read, and I don't mind reading this in my own pace.. Amy & Roger's road trip is enjoyable and filled with memories. It helped them to become stronger and better. It's more of adventure than romance (though there's a little touch of it. It's about finding yourself, letting go of unease feelings and valuing the time.  I love the pictures, the writing itself, the plot and the fun facts.

After reading this book, I miss having road trips even it's excruciating to sit in the car for hours of travel time. However, every road trip has its memorable experience. I would say, never waste those. Take pictures with your family and friends. Now, I am looking forward to my next road trip. :)

I recommend this to everyone b(^^,).

Books I can't wait to read: Young Adult-Dystopia

"All good things come to those who those who wait."

There are lots of books we just can't wait to read. We just can't wait them to be released or to read because cliffhangers made us wonder of what happens next? Here are the books that I'm really excited to read. I can't wait to grab them and read it.

Release Date: October 2nd, 2013
Allegiant by Veronica Roth was released last Tuesday. The third and final book of the Divergent trilogy is one of the most anticipated books this year. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I can see low ratings and negative reviews about it and I'm so curious on what will happen. I hope it won't be disappointing.
Note: If you have read this book, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE SPOILERS. Thank you very much. I would appreciate it. :) I'll have my moment with you to blabber when I've read it.

Release Date: February 4th, 2014
After that mind-splitting Chapter 62 of Unravel Me, I'm still confused of what team I do belong. Hahaha! I can't wait for this book! I don't have predictions of whom Juliette will end up. I wonder how Ms. Mafi will conclude this.

Release Date: January 28th, 2013
Look at that cover, I could stare Perry's face the whole day. (Just kidding!) I want Roar too! ;)

Release Date: May 6th, 2014
Dearest, America. Please make a right choice and I hope it's Prince Maxon. Seriously, you need to choose one. This is going to be a long wait. :\

Not Today, But Someday by Lori L. Otto

Pages: 188
Goodreads rating: 4.45/5 stars
My rating: 5/5 stars
Genre: Romance, Young Adult, Contemporary

Summary (Goodreads):
After the 3-volume Emi Lost & Found series was published, readers wanted more. This is for the readers – the story of how Nate and Emi met.

In December of 1994, when she was a junior in high school, Emi Hennigan discovered her father's infidelity. Forced to transfer schools mid-year, she wasn't trying to make new friends. In that same month, sophomore Nate Wilson's girlfriend broke up with him. Searching for someone to fill the void left by his first love, he meets Emi in his art class. Nate knows he wants Emi from the moment he sees her. Emi knows she needs Nate after one night together. A life-long friendship is born, and a pact is made to ensure that nothing will come between them. This novella is the prequel to the Emi Lost & Found series.

My Review:
I want to thank my friend Jane for giving me this book and of course to Ms. Lori Otto for a signed copy of this prequel. Again, Thank you so much! :">

Not Today, But Someday is the prequel to Emi Lost & Found series. Yet, it gave me an emotional rollercoasters. I laughed, cried and feel giddy at the same time. I tell you, it is a GOOD prequel and I'm definitely looking forward to read the rest of the series.

I love the way it's written. It was realistic and pure. I'm very fond of Emi and Nate. Both characters are vulnerable and broken. They shared this connection that no one will understand. I love how they help each other in forgiving those people caused an impact, leaving them broken.

The conversation between Emi and her dad made me emotional. It's one heartfelt conversation. As for Nate, he have this bad boy image with a soft spot. He just made me smile while reading and I can't help it! I'm looking forward to get know them more.

Overall, it's really good. I love both POVs, I can't wait to start the series. I highly recommend this to everyone! :)

Hello October! Updates and Quick Book Reviews

My exams are almost over, BUT I'm still going to be a busy one on semestral break due to school requirements.. I will find time reading novels as well as reviewing.

"So many books, so little time"

Anyway, enough of school stuffs and I'm going to update of what's happening for this month of October.

I haven't read much last September and hopefully this month will be a good one. So far, I've read THREE books this month. I'm just going to do a quick review about my thoughts about it. :)

Forever in Blue: The Four Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares

Rating: 4/5 stars
Date Finished: October 9,2013
Genre: YA, Chick Lit

Review:
It's been a while since I've read the third book and I sort of forgot what happened. It's a good read actually, but I find some of the characters a bit annoying. Let me mention Bridget and Carmen here. These two were my favorite characters, I'm a bit disappointed with them. I hope the final book is going to be better than this. I'm also looking forward what happens to them in the future.

On the good side, I love the message of this series. These girls grew up together. They shared good and bad memories and learned from it. Things may have changed as they grow older and each of them have lives on their own. Despite of busy schedules, their friendship remains and love each intact no matter what happens whether it's good or bad.  I just love how their friendship were so close. They are definitely inseparable. Kudos to Ann Brashares!

The Transfer: A Divergent Story by Veronica Roth

Date Finished: October 12,2013
Genre: YA, Dystopian

Review:
One thing is for sure. I need Allegiant RIGHT NOW! My anticipation of getting it is so damn high. It's nice to read this before Allegiant comes out. I miss Four already. So freaking bad. hahaha! (Sorry for a blabbering review)

Kisses from Hell by Kristin Cast, Alyson Noel, Kelley Armstrong, and Frances Lia Block

Rating: 3/5 stars
Date read: October 14,2013
Genre: YA, Paranormal, Fantasy

Review:
There are good short stories here. My favorite was written by Richelle Mead. It was really a nice read, it's quick but some just bored me.
