Review originally posted on Goodreads.

First, I want to thank Paula M. of Her Book Thoughts! and O.E. Boroni for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lenora Baker is still mourning on the loss of her mother. Her anger and depression consumes her to the point it becomes disturbing. Her father decided to send her to a boarding school to as the only option to figure out herself and as well as an opportunity to heal after such tragedy and family drama. It's been three years since she first stepped in Lancaster Academy. Still, she finds it difficult to cope especially when her mom's death anniversary is celebrated. She isolates herself and her grades starts to fail because she can't focus. Until one day, she met this popular, brooding but charming, attractive guy, Alexandre "Nathan" Roque. He'd become her motivator and pulled her out of the darkness. He was simply her light. Together they healed and appreciate life.

My goodness. I need a moment to gather my thoughts and appreciate these two characters.

They're so beautiful even if they're flawed. Sometimes I can't help being frustrated on Lenora for being too hard-headed. I want to smack her for pretending she didn't like Alex. (Duh. You're so obvious *winks*) On the other hand, I'm amused because she got this angst and her emotions just felt natural andreal to me. Plus, the love story just gave me butterflies. Nathan makes me feel giggly!! *fangirl mode activated* Gaah! I just love this guy! Fluffy, giddy-yeah!! \(^^,)/ \(^^,)/ \(^^,)/ Their awkward, sweet moments are so cute and adorable.

THAT ENDING: I don't know what to write right now because this book is a sucker punch on my heart. THAT CLIFFHANGER! OMG! GIVE ME THE NEXT BOOK! It's one of the books that made me hooked and I really didn't expect it. The writing style is simply beautiful. I had to say this book got an Eleanor & Park vibe, but the story is different. All I want is the sequel. I can't wait to read the sequel.

This is indeed a great debut novel and I am definitely recommending it.

TOP FIVE WEDNESDAY (3) : Books I Read in One Sitting

Hello everyone! It's Top 5 Wednesday. This is created by Lainey of gingerreadslainey and check out the goodreads group for more topics and discussions. For this week's topic Books I Read in One Sitting. Such a very interesting topic this week and I am trying to remember the books that I've read in one sitting.

May I present you the books in no particular order:

  • This is Colleen Hoover's debut novel. I've read this 3 years ago and I will not forget how this book slammed me. I started reading around 7 in the evening and finished it around 5 in the morning with my eyes red and puffy. I was that emotional and it's indeed a beautiful book. This book is the reason why I fell in love with her books. I'm glad I found this gem and I want to thank Ate Novel and Ate Jona for recommending this book to me.  The poems are just beautiful and the story is heartwarming.
  • One of the books that has a beautiful cover with a wonderful, refreshing story. I simply adore the story and the characters are cute and romantic in their own way. It is an easy, light read and I'm sure to look forward on reading more of Lauren Morrill's books.
  • Every time I read Abbi Glines' books, I can't help being hooked with it. I've read The Sea Breeze series and I absolutely enjoy it. Some of the books I've read it for days merely because I'm busy with school stuffs at that time. However, I've read While It Lasts in one sitting. This book is going to be a movie on 2016 and I am looking forward to it. (Hi Addam Bramich!)
  • My first Kasie West book and I'm definitely impressed on how cute and easy read it is. I just adore it so much and it gave me butterflies on my tummy. I found this book while browsing at the bookstore and the title just captivated me, as well as it's summary. Thank goodness for this book for taking away my reading slump!
  • This is a New Adult novel and I find this one really good in my opinion. Even if it's a light and short read, the emotion is just raw and the feels. I get teary-eyed on this. I really enjoyed it.
Most of the books I've read are contemporary novels because it takes away my reading slump. So what are the books you've read in one sitting?

Bully by Penelope Douglas

Pages: 333
Goodreads rating: 4.19 / 5 stars
My Rating: 4/5 stars
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance

***This novel contains adult/mature young adult situations. It is only suitable for ages 18+ due to language, violence, and sexual situations.

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak to me.

But he still won't leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.

I'm not going to let him bully me anymore.

My Review:

Review originally posted on Goodreads

Jared Trent and Tatum Brandt are neighbors and childhood best friends. One day, their friendship turned upside down when Jared returned one summer after visiting his father. Since that day, Jared started bullying Tate and she can't think of any reason why he does it. She went out of town for a year to study and to have a peace of mind. Upon returning, she's more confident and had more guts to face Jared. Unexpected things happened which changed her relationship to him.

I don't know if I will LOVE Jared Trent for being a sweet, loving boy or HATE him for all the awful things he did to Tate. I HAVE TO QUESTION MYSELF WHY DO I FREAKING LOVE BAD BOYS?!You might not get what I'm talking about. I swear, Jared Trent is one of those New Adult guys I love to hate at first but eventually ended up loving him for some reasons.

At first, Jared was an asshole. I swear I want to smack him so hard and it's so damn gay to bully a helpless girl like Tate. Who tolerates that? Absorbing all the embarrassment, people assuming about things that aren't real, and spreading rumors calling her with bad names? His actions are definitely a low-blow. Of course, with every action there's a reason why he acts horribly towards Tate. Throughout this book, we get to see his reasons and apparently, he was consumed with anger and pain because something bad happened to him. After hearing his side, I can't help loving him and show his true self. He is totally different and this sexy, sweet, bad boy is just...*fangirls*

I absolutely love Tate Brandt. Damn. I am so entertained with her character. Goodness, she definitely kick-ass. She had enough of Jared's bullshit and starts fighting back. I want to give slow claps for this lady. She's so brave! Despite of all things he did, she never gave up until she finds out the truth about him.

”You were my tempest, my thunder cloud, my tree in the downpour. I loved all of those things, and I loved you. But now? You’re a fucking drought. I thought that all the assholes drove German cars, but it turns out that pricks in Mustangs can still leave scars.”

The chemistry between these two was really intense. OMG. THE SPARKS. ZAPS. ZZZ. I love these two together. Their sweet moments are so freaking romantic and I can't stop reading it.

Overall, this is a great story and very entertaining. I'm instantly hooked with the story and definitely an easy, light, quick read.

My Review:

Review originally posted on Goodreads.

Archer's Voice is one of the best New Adult novels I've ever read. It's one of those books that will take you in an emotional roller coaster ride and I'm not kidding. The story is unique, and heart-wrenchingly beautiful and it's definitely a must read.

Bree Prescott arrives in a small town of Pelion, Maine looking for a peace of mind after dealing on a tragedy. It's an overwhelming feeling to her to the point it makes her damaged and vulnerable. She wants a fresh start by settling down on this new place. One day, she encounters the mysterious, silent, brooding man Archer Hale. There are secrets that lie in this town, Archer is well known for that and everyone called him bad names but that didn't stop Bree from getting to know a lonely man. Both damaged characters find their way of coping through love after the most traumatic events of their lives.

"Bad things don't happen to people because they deserve for them to happen. It just doesn't work that way. It's And no matter who we are, we have to take the hand we're dealt, crappy thought it may be and try our very best to move forward anyway, to love anyway, to hope anyway.. To have faith that ther's a purpose to the journey we're on. And try to believe that maybe more light shines out of those who have the most cracks."

I'm not going to blurb too much of the story because it will be a spoiler. The writing style is simple and riveting. It has a slow burning pace but I love how it pulls me into the story and I'm completely smitten by it . Some scenes will make your heart lurch, fluffy and crack up a little. I shed some tears and thank you very much tissues! SO MUCH DAMN FEELS. I CANNOT…. OMG. SO DAMN GOOD. SO BEAUTIFUL. SO AMAZING.

"Loving another person always means opening up yourself up for hurt. I don't want to lose more than I already have either, but isn't it worth it? Isn't it worth giving it a chance?"

Bree and Archer are both strong characters. I just love them together. They are attracted to each other but it really wasn't an insta-love (for me). As the story progresses, they just blend together by taking time of getting to know each other, and communicate with honesty. I love the transition of their relationship and the characters are well developed in the entire book.

What stood out in these characters individually?
I love Bree Prescott for her sincerity, patience and thoughtfulness. I simply adored her for that. Let's not forget Archer Hale. He is a beautiful, sweet , lonely man with a pure heart. My god, I ARCHER YOU. I ARCHER YOU SO MUCH.

"Loving you isn't a burden. Loving you is an honor and a joy, Archer"

One thing is for sure, I'm going to read more of Mia Sheridan's novels. Such an amazing, memorable love story indeed and I definitely recommend this book to everyone. Words are not enough to describe of how I feel right now. There's so much more to it and it is really awesome.

"Dear Peter, I miss you. "

A year of waiting for the conclusion in this duology. My goodness, I'm beyond excited to read this and I can't help devouring this book. I can't never get enough Jenny Han's books. She is definitely one of my favorites when it comes to YA Contemporary Romance. I don't know if I'll be happy because of how it ended or sad because it's only a duology and I want more? I doubt she'll write more. Here I am praying for a miracle to give us more Peter Kavinsky. I will never get enough of it.
"I don't want us to break each other's hearts."
Peter laughs easily; he cups my cheek in his hand. "Are you planning on breaking my heart, Covey?"

I need a moment to recover from this and process my thoughts. I have this big smile plastered on my face and goo-goo eyes while reading the entire book and I look like an idiot.I feel so dreamy and bubbly. I can't help giggling like mad-freaking-woman. GAH! I'm having a fangirl moment right now!(Excuse my fangirl mode tendencies) I want to hug this book and run my hands all over it. I swear this book makes me swoon. It's so cute, adorable, romantic and hilarious. I love how this book gave me that feeling. I just love it.

Eventually, Lara Jean Song Covey started falling in love with Peter Kavinsky. He's one of the guys who received her secret love letters and she's trying to win him back…for a real relationship. At first, they started pretending they are "dating" for such reasons. Now, it's going to be a real one and it's something new to her. Until, John Ambrose McClaren, an old neighbor/childhood friend comes back to her life. She's torn between two guys.

Before I proceed my thoughts between these two guys, I simply adore The Covey family. I just love how they hangout together and find time with each other despite of busy schedules. I love when Margot, Lara Jean and Kitty getting sweet on their Dad and also when three of them have this routine of making something special on different occasions. Just adorable. As for Lara Jean, for whatever scandal she'd been through, I like how she handled it with class even if she's on the verge of breaking down. Atta girl! Plus, I can't help but laugh on Kitty. Such a witty, hilarious kid. My jaw hurts from laughing. Now, let's proceed with the exciting moment...
Team Peter or Team John?

I'm torn. My mind goes to John McClaren. He maybe a laid back type of guy but he's sweet, and caring. More like he sticks to one girl kind of guy and his simplicity just makes him beautiful. He's charming in his own way. A friend of mine told me he's a keeper and she's definitely right. However, my heart goes to Peter Kavinsky. I'm like#TeamPeterKavinskyAlltheWay. He's this cocky, cute guy with all charms. I am completely SMITTEN by him even if he became sort of a jerk. I just love this guy. Of course I'll just pick one. Sorry, John but I'll go for Peter. Lara Jean and Peter K. forever! <3

Overall, it was really a fun, light and cute read that will make you swoon. Kind of book that will get you out of a reading slump. It was a happy ending but I'm a little underwhelmed (*cries on the corner.* I've waited for so long..). I beg for a third book. I beg!!!

P.S. I Still Want More

Goodbye, Genevieve! You are still a Barracuda to me. I know you have issues but you are one insecure girl. Forever Annoying Barracuda! Bye Witch with a B! ;D

My Review:

Review originally posted on Goodreads

Another enticing romance novel by Samantha Young. For some reasons, I always look forward on her romance novels. I love how this book kept me awake at night and the story just sucked me into it. I really enjoyed it and I'm satisfied on how it ends.

Alexa Holland works as a personal assistant to one of the most successful photographers and they're having an important photo shoot with Caine Carraway, CEO of Carraway Financial Holdings. She didn't really expect to meet this attractive, brooding CEO because they are involved in a family drama. Alexa's father had an affair with Caine's mother which destroyed his family. She wants to apologize to him for what her father did but Caine holds a grudge against the Hollands. He takes out all of his anger to Alexa and makes sure she was going to suffer it. There's a secret behind everything. Lies that hinders the attraction between this drama.

The story wasn't as strong as I've expected. Actually it's fine and beautifully written but the ending seems rushed and Caine's secret didn't really stood out for me but Alexa Holland's personality amused me. She's beautiful, smart-ass and witty. She's just perfect to Caine Carraway's brooding, sexy, alpha male lead despite of his hot/cold mood. I like Caine, even if he's kind of a jerk and a pain-in-the-ass. Their romance is steamy (*fans self*), romantic and I love when they throw banters to each other. The Smart-ass and The Pain-in-the-Ass. There might be some flaws in this book, but I'm still carried away by Samantha Young's writing.
